Metric and imperial leaves live on the same tool, and get mixed up · review
BGS Double thread pitch gauge, 52 leaves review
The only set here that prints its contents: BGS lists every metric ISO pitch it carries, from 0.25 to 4.0 mm (0.01 to 0.16 in) and beyond, rather than quoting a range.
What the figures leave us with The one to buy. Same leaves as the rest, and the only listing that tells you exactly what is in the packet.
Four sets, one parts list.
What the manufacturer publishes
A double thread gauge with 52 leaves for thread pitches, with the metric ISO pitches listed individually: 0.25, 0.3, 0.35, 0.4, 0.45, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.75, 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and beyond.
Why a parts list is a specification
Everywhere else in this hub the coverage is a range with a lower and an upper bound. That is not the same as a list: a range says nothing about what sits between its ends. On a tool whose entire function is matching a specific pitch, knowing the pitch is present is the only specification that matters.
The double body
Metric and imperial leaves on separate pivots cannot be confused by position, which is the failure mode of every single-pivot set. It is a small mechanical decision that removes the tool’s characteristic mistake.

What gets asked here
Why does listing the pitches matter?
Ranges hide gaps. A set stated as covering 0.25 to 6.0 mm (0.01 to 0.24 in) does not necessarily contain every pitch in between, and the one you need is the one you find out about at the bench. BGS prints the list.
What is a double gauge?
Two pivots in one body, so the metric leaves and the imperial leaves are physically separated. It removes the single most common error in using these tools — reading across from one system to the other.
Is it worth three euros more than the no-name sets?
For the printed list and the separated pivots, yes. On the leaves themselves there is nothing to choose between them.
