Test leads and probes
Bionso 25-piece probe kit with threaded tips
Five tip sizes, two hooks, two back probes and a wrench to swap them — and not a single rating figure on the page.
Specifications
- Stated rating
- NO CATEGORY AND NO VOLTAGE PUBLISHED. Twenty-five pieces, $29.99, five bullets of specification, and not one figure for category, voltage or current. It is one of five sets on this shelf that publish no category at all, with the Fluke TL175, the AUTOOL kit, the KAIWEETS set and the PeakTech pair. This shelf's introduction makes stated ratings the first of its five comparisons, and the published PeakTech fiche on this shelf says a rating should be in the listing
- Insulation
- SILICONE, "cold and high temperature resistant, very soft, more flexible use", double insulated, with "100 high-purity copper wire" — a phrase that is presumably meant to read 100 per cent. No temperature figures and no gauge. Silicone is the material this shelf's introduction prefers over PVC
- Plugs and tips
- REPLACEABLE gold-plated probes in five sizes: four at 1.0 mm (0.04 in), two at 2.0 mm (0.08 in), two 3.8 mm (0.15 in) banana plug probes and two 0.7 mm (0.03 in) back probe pins, plus two test HOOKS that clip onto a component leg and stay there. Two TIP SHROUDS are included — cover for the exposed metal, which only the Fluke otherwise addresses on this shelf, and here as a separate part rather than an adjustable sleeve
- Length
- 43 inches, 109 cm, for the two leads. Mid-length on this shelf: under the PUKAIBUL's 125 cm (49.2 in) and the published PeakTech's 120 cm (47.2 in), over the Klein 69410's 104 cm (40.9 in)
- Supplied
- Two 43-inch leads, two handles, four 1.0 mm (0.04 in) probes, two 2.0 mm (0.08 in) probes, two 3.8 mm (0.15 in) banana plug probes, two 0.7 mm (0.03 in) back probe pins, two alligator clips, two tip shrouds, ONE WRENCH, two test hooks and two storage boxes. Twenty-five pieces. The wrench is the only tool supplied with anything on this shelf, and it exists because threaded tips have to be nipped up rather than finger-tight. 210 grams
- Also stated
- A three-month refund and a two-year warranty, both stated. Bionso claims the kit "works perfectly with any multimeter, clamp meter or test instrument", which is a compatibility claim and not a rating. Compared with the published AUTOOL set on this shelf, which runs to 68 pieces, this is the smaller of the two big kits

NO category. NO voltage. NO current. No temperature figures. No gauge.
Five tip sizes and a wrench
Which is the kit, and the wrench is the part that shows somebody had used one.
Nought point seven for a back probe. One millimeter for a dense board. Two for
general work. Three point eight for a banana socket. And two hooks that clip onto
a component leg and stay there.
One handle takes all of them, which means a screw joint carrying the measurement.
A screw joint done finger-tight works loose, adds contact resistance and reads
intermittently.
A small wrench turns that from a recurring annoyance into something you do once.
It is the only tool supplied with anything on this shelf.
Two tip shrouds, as parts
Cover for the exposed metal.
Only the Fluke otherwise addresses tip exposure on this shelf, and it does it with
an adjustable sleeve you twist.
Here they are two separate pieces you fit, which is a cheaper answer to the same
problem and one more thing to lose.
And then nothing at all about ratings
Thirty dollars. Twenty-five pieces. Five bullets of specification.
Not CAT II. Not CAT III. No voltage. No current.
“The leads carry the same CAT rating as the meter, or they do not.”
Five sets on this shelf name nothing: this, the Fluke TL175 at $33.83, the AUTOOL
kit, the KAIWEETS set and the PeakTech pair. Three Klein
sets print CAT III 1000 V and CAT IV 600 V in a bullet, at twenty dollars.
The rated pairing of a meter and its leads is the lower of the two.
Twenty-five against sixty-eight
The published AUTOOL kit on this shelf runs to 68 pieces.
So this is the smaller of the two large kits here — and the one with the wrench.
Piece count is the easiest number to compete on and the least useful. Four 1.0 mm (0.04 in)
probes is four of the same thing.
What silicone and copper claims are worth without numbers
“Cold and high temperature resistant.” No figures.
The Eiranoly here publishes minus fifty to plus two hundred Celsius, which
is the only such range on this shelf.
“100 high-purity copper wire” is presumably meant to read a hundred per cent, and
either way it is a sentence rather than a gauge. The Klein 69381 publishes 18 AWG.
