A staff turns a level line into a height difference. The scale is the product.

What the manufacturer publishes

Double-sided markings with centimeters on the front and millimeters on the back, with weather-resistant ink. Five adjustable telescopic sections extending to 5 m (16 ft). Construction from 0.8 mm (0.03 in) anodized 6063-T5 aluminum with weather- and corrosion-resistant markings.

The check that matters more than the specification

Extend it fully and let go. If any section slides, the staff will read short by exactly that amount at exactly the moment you are not watching. It is the single failure of telescopic staffs and no maker publishes anything about it — you check it yourself, before every job.

Where five meters puts you

Enough for a story and a half, floor to ceiling with margin, or the fall across a site. The 6 m (20 ft) staff in this hub is for vehicle height and larger spans.

What gets asked here

Why two different scales?

They are read at different distances. A centimeter scale with large figures is legible through an instrument at thirty meters; a millimeter scale is for reading against a receiver or by hand. Putting one on each face means the staff serves both without compromise.

What should I check before each use?

That every section locks positively. A staff whose middle section creeps down under its own weight adds an error that never shows up in the numbers.

What is 6063-T5?

An aluminum alloy temper. VEVOR states 0.8 mm (0.03 in) of anodized 6063-T5, which is the ordinary specification for a light telescopic staff — stiff enough extended, light enough to hold steady.
