Chalk refills
Generic Marking chalk, 2 × 1 oz
Two ounces of chalk at twenty dollars, with neither the color nor the grade published — the two things this shelf says decide everything.
Specifications
- Also stated
- NO Color and NO GRADE. This shelf's introduction opens on it: chalk comes in two grades and choosing wrongly is not recoverable — temporary brushes off, permanent survives weather and also survives being wrong on a finished wall. This listing states neither, and the buying tip says the color is what normally tells you
- Stated dimension or range
- Two bottles of one ounce each, at twenty dollars thirty-seven — about ten dollars nineteen an ounce. The other bottle on this shelf is eight ounces for two dollars ninety-eight, or thirty-seven cents an ounce: this is twenty-seven times the price per ounce of powder
- Functions
- Intended for use with construction MARKERS and marking pen systems rather than a chalk reel — deep-hole marker pens, an Ox pencil, Pica pencil systems and a Tracer TrueShot chalk marker are all named. That is the real distinction on this shelf: a one-ounce bottle with a narrow neck fills a marker cartridge, where an eight-ounce bottle is sized for a reel
- Supplied
- Two 1 oz containers, stated as a practical multipack and as a gift-ready set. The fifth of five bullets is the gift suggestion
- Material
- A formula stated optimized for consistent flow and visibility. No fineness figure, no grain size and no material description appears — and fineness is one of the five things this shelf's introduction compares
- Reference and mounting
- Recorded under the brand "Generic" with the reference US TAPE - DURAMRK - 76700. US Tape is a real layout-tool maker and DuraMark its chalk line; the Generic brand field is a marketplace artefact rather than the product

NO Color. NO GRADE. No fineness figure.
Neither of the two things that decide it
This shelf’s introduction opens on the grades: temporary brushes and washes off,
permanent survives weather on a roof and also survives being wrong on a finished
wall.
“Choosing wrongly is not recoverable.”
The buying tip adds that the color is normally what tells you which is in the
bottle.
This listing states neither.
Ask the seller before ordering — and ask whether it washes off, not just what
color it is.
It is for a marker, not a reel
Which is the real reason it exists, and the reason for the price.
One ounce in a narrow-necked bottle refills a cartridge: an Ox Tuff Shot, a Pica
Dry, a Tracer TrueShot. All three are named.
Eight ounces with a fine-tip nozzle fills a chalk reel.
Pouring eight ounces into a marker cartridge is not practical. That is what you
are paying for.
Ten dollars nineteen an ounce
Against thirty-seven cents on the other bottle on this shelf.
Two ounces for twenty dollars thirty-seven. Eight ounces for two dollars
ninety-eight.
Twenty-seven times, for powder.
If the tool is a reel, buy the other one.
And “Generic” is not the maker
US TAPE - DURAMRK - 76700.
US Tape is an established American layout-tool maker and DuraMark its chalk
line. This is a branded product listed without its brand in the marketplace
field, which happens when a reseller creates the listing rather than the
manufacturer.
Two consequences: a search for the brand will not find it, and the page carries
the reseller’s copy — which is why four of its five bullets are keyword strings
rather than specifications.
