BSIDE

Milliamps and adjustable sensitivity

Both BSIDE instruments here solve a discrimination problem rather than a measurement one.

What it is genuinely good at

The UX1 clamp resolves to 1 mA, which finds a parasitic drain flattening a vehicle battery or a leakage current tripping an RCD intermittently — currents an ordinary clamp reports as zero. In a body under twenty centimeters long.

The AVD06 pen has stepless sensitivity, which is what lets you pick one live conductor out of a bundle where a fixed-threshold pen lights up on all of them.

Where it is ordinary

No categories published, and the clamp does not state a maximum current.

The one to look at first

The UX1, for the milliamp resolution. It is a specialist capability at a general price.
