HARDELL Digital caliper, 150 mm (5.91 in) review
A hardened stainless caliper stating ± 0.02 mm (0.001 in) over 0–150 mm (0 to 5.91 in), splash and dust protected, with the four standard measuring modes and a zero button.
What the figures leave us with The one to buy at this price. It states the tolerance, the jaws are hardened, and it says plainly what it is not sealed against.
Eighteen euros, a published tolerance, and an honest sentence about what it does not survive.
What the manufacturer publishes
Hardened stainless steel construction, splash-proof and dust-proof — the maker states explicitly that it is not waterproof. A measuring accuracy of ± 0.02 mm (0.001 in) over a range of 0 to 150 mm (0 to 5.91 in). Four measuring modes: inside, outside, depth and step. A zero key usable at any position. A large LCD for quick reading.
Resolution against accuracy, on one page
The display steps in hundredths. The stated accuracy is ± 0.02 mm (0.001 in) — twice that step. That is not a contradiction; it is how every caliper works, and it is the single most misread pair of numbers in this whole category. A caliper showing 12.34 mm (0.49 in) on a part that is truly 12.32 mm (0.49 in) is behaving exactly as specified.
The sentence worth noticing
“Splash-proof and dust-proof, however not waterproof” is a specification most listings in this price band would have left out, and one that a workshop buyer needs. It puts the tool clearly on one side of a real line.

What it has, and what it lacks
Strengths
Publishes an accuracy figure — ± 0.02 mm (0.001 in), stated by the maker — at a third of the price of the MIB
Hardened stainless steel, splash-proof and dust-proof (the maker states it is not waterproof)
Four measuring modes: outside, inside, depth and step
Zero button usable at any position
Compromises
No standard named for the accuracy figure, unlike the MIB caliper's DIN 862
Splash-proof is stated explicitly as not waterproof — coolant work needs more
Not found on the British market

What gets asked here
Is ± 0.02 mm (0.001 in) good for a caliper?
It is the usual figure for a 150 mm (5.91 in) digital caliper, and it is the one to compare between models. Note that it is looser than the 0.01 mm the display shows — resolution and accuracy are different things, and this caliper publishes both.
What is a step measurement?
The distance from a face to a shoulder, taken on the back edge of the caliper. It is the fourth of the four modes and the one people forget the caliper can do.
Can I use it with coolant?
The maker states splash-proof and dust-proof, and explicitly not waterproof. For coolant or wet swarf, an IP-rated caliper is the right tool.

Who should pick this one, among measuring instruments
The value pick: a published tolerance and hardened jaws, without paying for a named standard.
Amazon reports what buyers took in the month before this page was last checked: at least 300.
The figure is a floor, rounded by Amazon, and read through Keepa — it says what buyers picked, not what a maker claims.

± 0.02 mm (0.001 in) to DIN 862 · 0.01 mm resolution · four functions
The only caliper in this hub that names the standard behind its figure: ± 0.02 mm (0.001 in) to DIN 862, with 0.01 mm resolution and the four standard measuring functions.
Best for: Work where the measurement has to be defensible, and naming the standard is part of that.
150 mm (5.91 in) · glass grating scale · IP54 · hardened stainless body
A caliper using a glass grating scale rather than the usual capacitive strip, which the maker states resists humidity and magnetism, in an IP54 hardened stainless body.
Best for: A workshop where oil, swarf and damp are normal and a capacitive caliper keeps misbehaving.
