BENNING

Named standards and a low-pass filter

Two trade instruments, and one listing that goes further than any other on this site.

What it is genuinely good at

The DUSPOL digital states that it is tested and approved to DIN EN 61243-3 and VDE 0682-401:2015. No other listing in this catalog names a standard at all. It also indicates from 50 V with flat batteries — removing the failure mode where a dead cell makes a live circuit look dead.

The P2 mini clamp publishes a low-pass filter at approximately 160 Hz, which is what makes a reading on a switched motor drive mean anything.

Where it is ordinary

The clamp publishes four specifications and no category, which is terse for a trade instrument at the top of its hub.

The one to look at first

The DUSPOL, for the flat-battery behavior. It is the difference between an instrument that degrades and one that lies.
