PRESCH

Gradients, angle scales and the trades that need them

Both PRESCH products on this site do something adjacent to the obvious job.

What it is genuinely good at

Specializing. The 40 cm (15.7 in) level carries a curved horizontal vial with 2% gradient control — the fall that paving and terraces are laid to — and a vertical-view window for reading a vertical from the side. The 3 m (10 ft) folding rule carries an angle scale in its joints, so it marks angles as well as lengths.

Where it is ordinary

Base specifications. The level publishes no accuracy in millimeters per meter, where the Bosch and Stabila in the same hub publish 0.5. For general leveling that is a real gap.

The one to look at first

The level, if you lay anything that has to shed water. The gradient vial does in a glance what a level and a packing piece do in a minute.
